The Penn State football games in 2010 that are most exciting
College football game plans are generally divided into their schedule of conferences and non-conferences, and this is the case with PSU with its large 10- and non-conference schedule. Usually the Big 10 form has its reliable opponents who you know will make good or very good teams and create exciting match-ups. The schedule for non-conferences is a wild card as it changes every year and usually includes some cupcakes that are simply schedule fillers.
In 2010, there is a premier match-up in the non-conference schedule, and that is the Penn State vs. Alabama game on September 11th. This is a dream match for PSU fans and it will be a premiere match up in college football season in general. This game has it all, history, conference vs. conference drama (Big Ten vs. SEC), big name buses (Joe Paterno and Nick Saban), and the playing time scene has to be incredible. This is not only the best non-conference game on the Penn State schedule, but the best on their schedule period.
However, there are also several other good games on the PSU schedule. The leading Big 10 game is without a doubt the football game Penn State vs. Ohio State. The Ohio State Buckeyes are likely to be favored in the top 5 or 10 when the season begins. This game is later in the season so things can change, but it's very likely that PSU and Ohio State will be 2 of the best teams in the Big 10, and this game often determines who the champion is and who goes to Rose. Bowl. You can also bet that tickets for Penn State vs Illinois at home will be hard to get.
Besides Ohio State, it's the game conference that fascinates me the most, against Michigan State. For some reason, Michigan State is a thorn in the side of PSU, and they have ruined many a good season for the Nittany Lions. This is the last game of the year and I see that there is something big on the field for both teams when they meet at the end of November in Happy Valley. I hate to say it, but this is a nerve-wracking game for PSU fans who are able to get a Penn State vs. Michigan State 7m.
There are other good games on the schedule, especially in conferences. Penn State vs. Michigan and Penn State vs. Iowa are both important, meaningful and interesting games. The game that is likely to be the most talked about as much for the venue as the game is the PSU vs. Indiana game at the FedEx field outside of Washington DC on November 20th. This is essentially a road game for PSU that has been converted by Indiana into a PSU home game because they get a big paycheck and it moves the game very close to PSU's alumni base. The atmosphere will be great for Nittany fans and college football fans in general.
There are definitely other games on the schedule vs. Minnesota, Northwestern, even Temple that will be closely anticipated, but Alabama, Ohio State, and Michigan State games are the ones I look forward to the most.
